This Eid-ul-Azha, Pakistanis could face fewer hassles while buying sacrificial animals -- instead of markets, they will just have to go online. The 'bakra' (sheep) business has gone online to cater to customers who will now have the option of ordering the animal of their choice from those displayed on the net, which would then be delivered at their doorstep. A variety of animals, including sheep, cattle and camels, are sacrificed every year in Pakistani homes during Eid-ul-Azha, which falls on January 1 this year. Customers can now order the animals of their choice from the comfort of their homes at 'ebakra.Com', started by an Islamabad-based company and 'qurbanionline.Com', an endevour by a Karachi-based concern. According to the reports in the media here, the animals could be chosen from pictures and prices displayed and ordered by e-mail for free home delivery. "If the customer wishes, he can even visit the sheep farm where they are bred and raised. The prices, though a little bit higher than the market, still remain within the reach of most customers," Sakir Qureshi, proprietor of Qureshi foods which offered the animals online, said. "I am always trying new ideas in my business... That is why I have started e-bakra. I could not believe the response that I got," APP newsagency quoted him as saying.
