As many as 228 people from Rajouri and Udhampur districts of Jammu today left for Srinagar from where they will go to Jeddah for the Haj pilgrimage on December 17, a spokesman said.
From Rajouri 199 pilgrims, including 58 women, left in a fleet of ten buses were seen off by relatives and a large number of people, including Deputy Commissioner Pervez Malik.
From Udhampur district, 109 Haj pilgrims, including 20 women, were accorded a warm send off by Deputy Commissioner O P Kalandria.
A liason officer, an ambulance and a scout vehicle are accompanying the Haj pilgrims.
