Chhattisgarh PSC Chairman suspended for irregularities

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CPSC) Chairman Ashok Darbari was today suspended for alleged irregularities in the conduct of PSC examinations.

"Under Article 317 (2) of the Constitution, Governor Lt Gen K M Seth today suspended Darbari from the chairmanship of the Public Service Commission," Prafulla Chandra Dalai, Secretary to the Governor, said.

Since Darbari was suspended with immediate effect, Khelan Ram Jangde, a member of the Commission, has been ordered by the Governor to perform the duties of the Chairman, Raj Bhawan sources said.

The Governor has sent a proposal to the President of India who in turn referred the matter to the Supreme Court for inquiry and report on the conduct of Darbari as Chairman, they added.
