Seeking reservation for Dalit Christians and Muslims, Tamil Nadu Dalit Sena today said a law should be enacted for punishing officials who did not implement reservation laws. Talking to reporters here, State president M Palanimuthu urged Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to initiate measures to fill backlog vacancies reserved for SC/STs. He said private institutions opposing reservation policy should not be given loans, electricity and other infrastructure facilities by the Centre and State governments. Alleging that some local body leaders were indulging in 'kattapanchayat' activities and committing atrocities against Dalits, he said the State government should take measures to prevent such illegal activities.
