By: Country News

FNB United Corp. (NASDAQ:FNBN), the holding company for CommunityONE Bank, N.A., today announced that its Board of Directors declared its quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share, to be paid July 26, to shareholders of record July 5, 2007.

“Paying a cash dividend is an effective way for us to share our current operating successes with our shareholders,” stated Michael C. Miller, President and Chairman. “This dividend represents a 3.80% annual yield on the recent price.”

On June 4, 2007, First National Bank and Trust Company, including its divisions Catawba Valley Bank, First Gaston Bank and Northwestern Bank of Wilkesboro, changed its name to CommunityONE Bank, National Association. The new name was not the result of a new sale, purchase or merger, and no community offices closed as a result of the name change.

“We have had a very busy second quarter with the name change to CommunityONE Bank and the appointments of Mark Severson as the new CFO and Harvey Goldberg as the new president of Dover Mortgage,” said Miller. “We continue to focus on improving efficiencies and performance in the second half of 2007.”

FNB United Corp. is the Asheboro, North Carolina-based bank holding company for CommunityONE Bank, N.A., and Dover Mortgage Company.
