Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH) today announced that Molina Healthcare of Washington, one of its subsidiary health plans, has earned a three-year renewal on its accreditation status and received an “Excellent” rating from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The “Excellent” rating is the highest accreditation accorded by the NCQA, an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to measuring the quality of America’s health care. The renewed accreditation status for three years means that Molina Healthcare of Washington once again met the criteria for Medicaid managed care organizations established by the NCQA. “Molina Healthcare strives to continually provide the highest quality health care services and access to care for our members in each of our health plans throughout the nation,” said Dr. J. Mario Molina, president and chief executive officer of Molina Healthcare, Inc. “The renewal of the three-year accreditation status and the ‘Excellent’ rating by NCQA for Molina Healthcare of Washington are testaments to our commitment to excellence and also recognize that we have incorporated quality improvement into our standard operating procedures. We are extremely proud of this important achievement.” “Molina Healthcare of Washington has again received NCQA’s ‘Excellent’ accreditation status, which is reserved for the best health plans in the nation,” said Margaret O’Kane, president of the National Committee for Quality Assurance. “The ‘Excellent’ status is only awarded to those plans that meet or exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement and deliver excellent clinical care.” An “Excellent” accreditation status is NCQA’s highest survey outcome and is granted only to health plans that demonstrate levels of service and clinical quality that meet or exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. Health plans earning this accreditation level must also achieve Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) results that are in the highest range of national or regional performance. HEDIS is a tool used by more than 90 percent of America’s health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service. “The continued recognition from NCQA regarding our Medicaid product line and services provided to our member population is a reflection of our commitment to quality,” said Dale Ahlskog, president of Molina Healthcare of Washington. “I want to thank our employees, providers and leadership for their contributions to our renewed three year accreditation status. This achievement is truly a reflection of their hard work and diligence in providing high quality care to our members.” About NCQA NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.
