Nothing wrong in alloting lands to officials

By: India News

Chhattisgarh government today denied any foul play in its project to allot lands to top officials of the state, saying the required procedures were followed before initiating it.

"Before starting the project for the high income group state government officials, the housing board had started projects for journalists and people's representatives, besides third and fourth grade employees," an official release said today.

"It is wrong to level allegations by some organisations, as the state housing board had obtained proper approval from the capital area development authority and the state government for launching a project for high income group of officials of the state government," it said.

Reacting to media reports that the state government was giving concession to the high income officials in allotment of huge amount of land for construction of house in costly area, the release said the housing board has a plan for 1,450 houses for middle income group and 550 for high income group in the capital city.

"The actual price of the land with the development cost will be collected from those state government officials, who will be allotted those costly lands," it said.

A section of media had carried reports accusing the Housing Board of ignoring rules and trying to allot lands to top state government officials, when the Board was not entitled to do it.
