Sri Lanka invites Inox to build new multiplexes

Sri Lankan government has invited Inox Leisure Limited to expand its network with new multiplexes in that country, company Director Deepak Ashar said.

Inox has emerged as one of the fastest growing and most profitable chains in the country, Ashar told reporters after its annual General meeting here today.

Inox will scale upto 121 screens, 34058 seats across 30 multiplexes in the country by 2008, for which it will make an investment of Rs 140 crores, Asher said.

Inox also intends to expand its network in Dubai, Abudhabi, Malyasia and Singapore, Asher said.

Inox has earned a net profit of Rs 18 crore during 2005-06, he said.

With the merger of Calcutta Cine Pvt Limited with Inox, Inox has started owning multiplexes in West Bengal and Assam.
