The Hollywood Reporter today announced that Todd Cunningham has been named National Editor of The Hollywood Reporter: Premier Edition, the new day and date edition for New York and other East Coast markets launching November 2, 2007. In this newly created position, Cunningham will oversee the production of the national edition of the paper, focusing on news and analysis relevant to The Reporter’s growing East Coast readership and international audiences. He will report to Elizabeth Guider, Editor of The Hollywood Reporter, and be based in Los Angeles. “Having known Todd for ten years and having worked with him for five of those, I know he brings a wealth of experience in newsroom management, boasts excellent editing and business skills, and works tirelessly with reporters to get the best possible coverage of the business,” said Guider. “I know that our senior management ranks as well as our new day and date publication on the East Coast will be enhanced and strengthened by his involvement.” Cunningham joins The Reporter from the LA Business Journal, where he served as assistant managing editor. Prior to joining the Journal in December 2005, he served as managing editor of Hispanic Business Magazine. Cunningham also spent seven years at Variety, where he helped launch that paper’s Gotham Edition as managing editor. His journalist background also includes 13 years at the Long Beach Press Telegram as news, entertainment and sports editor and, before that, jobs at Time Life, NBC and the Christian Science Monitor, for which he reported from Central America. “We are delighted to welcome Todd, whose appointment reflects Elizabeth’s continued success in transforming The Reporter’s newsroom to best serve our global readership and strategic media alliances, such as with Reuters,” said Eric Mika, Senior Vice President and Publishing Director of The Hollywood Reporter. “As we prepare to launch our national day and date edition, Todd will be a strong asset to our continued expansion and strategic growth.” Following its November 2 launch, The Hollywood Reporter: Premier Edition will be available in key East Coast cities in the early morning with an expanded focus on news, analysis and data covering key segments of the entertainment business in these regions, including Wall Street, Madison Avenue and the film, television, stage and other entertainment production communities. The Premier Edition will also continue to provide all of the breaking news from Hollywood and around the world.
