Kolkata, Sep 22: Despite talk of formation of a third front at the national level, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee today said that it could not be formed without a concrete programe. Bhattacharjee, a CPI-M politburo member, said that much was being written by "newspapers" about the formation of a third front, "but a front cannot emerge out of nothing. It will emerge from the struggle of the common people". "Without a concrete programme and ideology, there cannot be a third front," Bhattacharjee told a meeting of the CII National Council here when an industrialist asked him about it. When asked about the possibility of his taking over as Prime Minister of a third front government at the Centre, Bhattacharjee jocularly remarked, "it is too early to reply to such a question".
