Businesses and entrepreneurs looking for funding to launch or take their business to the next level investor attention can find out how to gain interest and money at the TriTech Fast Pitch Competition to be held Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the University Extension Center, room E. TriTech is currently accepting applications from businesses who would like to compete for a chance to win the opportunity to present their company at a private screening to the Inland Empire Tech Coast Angels. The TriTech Small Business Development Center, with the help of local sponsors, is hosting the event to help businesses in the community gain valuable insight on the investor mindset. Anyone who is interested in learning about the funding landscape may attend for a low pre-registration cost of only $45. Attendees will have a chance to mingle with investors and fellow entrepreneurs over hors d’oeuvres, participate in a one minute fast pitch, learn how to ask for the capital and learn the dos and don’ts of pitching. “The Fast Pitch or deal review has been beneficial for us as an Inland Empire company and I feel is a highly valuable experience for early-stage companies raising capital,” said Founder and CEO Amro A. Albanna of Qmotions. Ambryx, a local biotech company, signed on with the TriTech Small Business Development Center in May of 2006 was introduced to the funding community through similar events. “The experience has contributed powerfully to our efforts in fundraising. In addition, TriTech has helped us to perfect the company fast pitch and streamline our presentation,” commented Helen Chen, VP of Business Development. Ambryx’s diligence and practice in seeking funding literally paid off on June 12, 2007 when $700,000 closed in angel/private funding with a round of $1.8 million open. The TriTech SBDC is an economic development program of Riverside Community College District, is a program partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, and California State University Fullerton and extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis.
