The Vaishnodevi yatra today resumed after a night-long halt, as there was slow down in the rush at Bhawan, the abode of the holy cave shrine in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said. "Yatra has been resumed this morning after night-long halt following heavy rush created at Bhawan, where over 40 thousand devotees had darshan since yesterday", they said. As many as 27 thousand pilgrims have arrived in Katra town since yesterday and are being allowed to move towards Bhawan for darshan at the holy cave shrine today, they said. In wake of the security concerns and lack of the vacant space at Bhawan, yatra was stopped last night. "Multi-tier security set-up has been in place in and around Katra town, Vaishnodevi shrine and sorrounding Trikuta hills for incident free Navratras and 11th festival, which started from yesterday", they said. All the entry and exit points into town and Vaishnodevi have been sealed and security tiers of Army, CRPF, police and Village Defence Committee have come up. Frisking, search of the vehicles have been intensified, they said. Over three lakh pilgrims are expected to visit cave shrine via Katra during Navratras. Last year about 2.67 lakh pilgrims had visited shrine during Navratras.
